At the Thursday Palm BBQ put on by Jesse and Patrice.
All shots taken with my 105mm f/2.5 portrait lens, a little before sunset.
Velvia, needless to say. More scanned slides have been added here. |

Our first visit to Ken and Katie's new house. These are somewhat old, but
I only got around to scanning them recently. Also included here are some
wonderful night shots from Sausolito. |

This year's pumpkin shots didn't turn out well. |
 |
My very first shots from a new camera - my first digicam, a Sony DSC-F707. Colors aren't quite up to Velvia, but resolution and optics are excellent,
and it's a lot of fun to shoot with. ISO 100 to 400. Lens goes from f/2.0 at 38mm to
f/2.4 at 190mm (35mm equivalent focal lengths). |
 |
A few shots from rainy day, from new digicam. |
 |
We got to see Jackie and the rest of the gang at a pot-luck party put on by Mal and HD.
Photos are from new digicam. I got to learn first-hand just how difficult it is to use
for flash photography. Many of the strange effects were caused by long exposure times.
To avoid this, I had to go completely manual, and this led to such a dark image that
framing was difficult. The effect is actually pretty neat, but it's not something you
want on every flash photo you take! It was amazing how many of the people at the party were laid off. |
 |
After the late night at the party, we had a relaxing Sunday. Went for a walk, and
Anne-Lise made rack of lamb for dinner. Next time, I promise to take pictures of the
lamb, but this time all you get is the walk! |
 |
This year we went over to Ken and Katie's new place for thanksgiving. Everyone
brought some food, and Ken made a turkey, so we had lots of food. Two kinds of gravy,
excellent stuffing, brussels sprouts, and two kinds of pumpkin pie! The next day was a
relaxing one, walking off the turkey. Danny made leek and potato soup, which turned out
much like Sanni's - yummy! |
 |
Just a weekend visit to see Lew and Debbie in San Francisco, and some shots from around the house and around the neighborhood. |
 |
Christmas vacation was a trip back to the Great White North to visit family and friends. I took lots of photos with my new digicam. |
