Our Yosemite trip. Eric, Jackie, Carl, Kotty, Danny, Anne-Lise, and myself were there. Here Eric is looking very tired and unenthusiastic on our hike up Four Mile Trail to Glacier Point in Yosemite. Despite the way he looks here, Eric had a lot of fun at the top and actually enjoyed the trip.
The view of Yosemite Falls from Four Mile Trail. At times there were wonderful rainbows from the spray, but it wasn't the best time of year for waterfalls.
Kotty catching up to me on the Four Mile Trail. Her pink hair makes her easy to spot even from a distance!
Anne-Lise also looks tired. The trail was rather unrelenting with lots of elevation gain, and that took its toll on all of us. By the end of the day, we were glad the place we were renting had a hot tub. The next day we went for a much less demanding hike.
The view of the Ahwahnee Hotel from the Four Mile Trail. We ate there for breakfast before setting out on our hike. Danny managed to finish an entire trailhands breakfast, which is no easy feat!
Near Glacier Point, the trail gets snowy. The transition is a bit difficult to cross because of the ice, but the afternoon sun managed to make the return crossing reasonably easy. It sure was nice to see snow again.
Snow melting on a rock at the side of the trail.
Bark of a nice big Ponderosa pine near Glacier Point.
This photo was taken by Eric with Kotty's Nikon FM2 using her 105mm lens. Eric and Kotty arrived at the top quite a while before I did. They were both drawn to this precipice. Clearly, she doesn't have a vertigo problem!
By the time I got to the top, Eric and Kotty had been there a while. Here they're hanging out on the rock overhang. The valley floor is far below.
I join Kotty and Anne-Lise out on the rock.
Anne-Lise had just jumped from one rock to another. Of course, she thinks nothing of this, so what can I do?
 Anne-Lise at Glacier Point.
Kotty layering before sitting down to lunch at Glacier Point. The sun was shining, so it wasn't too cold.
A spectacular view of a pinnacle. The high clouds give it an unsettled look. You can just make out the river winding its way through the valley floor below.
A nice rock formation I saw on the way down from Glacier Point, late in the day.
Even later, still hiking down from Glacier Point, Kotty and I saw this beautiful sunset through the trees.
The day after our long hike up to Glacier Point, we decided to take it easy, hiking to Mirror Lake. It was another sunny day, of course!
After resting at Mirror Lake, we continued on to this point, where a bridge once stood. Of course, some people jumped around on the rocks while others rested.
Carl seems content.
A wind farm we passed on the way back from Yosemite. There are also windmills of a different sort, with vertical shafts.
