Applied Thought has experience developing applications appropriate for
the special requirements of Palm OS:
-
small application size: code reuse and custom compression algorithms
-
fast execution to reduce battery consumption: appropriate algorithms and
data structures
-
simple and direct user interface conforming to Palm OS standards
-
robust and reliable so users can feel secure - no data loss
-
compatibility with all Palm OS devices
Applications
-
Flytrap, a game that uses distrete event
simulation for realistic physics and custom music compression to store
over an hour of classical music in just 5K.
-
BeamBooks - a completely new kind of
beaming application that uses a peer-to-peer architecture and a custom
BeamSync protocol built on top of IrDA to completely synchronize any two
devices in one fast operation.
-
Pocket Smalltalk
and Pocket Java - new virtual machines allow these object-oriented languages
to run in a very small memory footprint. These are works in progress, by
Andrew
Brault and Eric Arseneau.
