Anagrams

Anagrams is a Victorian word game. I wrote a multi-player web game in Java when I first started to do serious web programming in Java. I recently changed it to use AJAX so I could learn JavaScript too. You can play on my Mac. The source code is open-source and is posted on SourceForge.

Photo Album

Click here to go to my photo album with thumb-print preview images like those shown above. I use a Canon Elan IIe 35mm SLR and digitize the slides on my Nikon Coolscan II scanner, followed by some digital image processing using Photoshop. I use an 85 mm lens most of the time since I like portraits. I rarely use a flash. I shoot mostly 50 ASA Velvia slide film. I prefer Fuji film to Kodak generally.

Recipes <NEW!>

We created a book in BeamBooks for recipes. We enter new recipes into this book whenever we find a really good one. We sometimes create new recipes by attempting to emulate dishes we order in restaurants. Other people add their recipes too. BeamSync with one of us if you want to get the book. I also maintain an online collection of recipes.

Bike Stuff

My bikes:
  • Ryan Vanguard LWB recumbent - now with mega-range gearing!
  • Cannondale unsuspended mountain bike with Softride stem.

  • Where I buy the parts to build these bikes:Java @ Sun

  • Colorado Cyclist
  • Excel Sports Boulder
  • Bike Nashbar
  • Rivendell Bicycle Works
  • The now-defunct www.Bike-Pro.com

  • Also check out Open Road, publishers of the Bicycle Culture Quarterly and the Encycleopedia.

Here's a spoke calculator for building your own wheels, written in JavaTM. This calculator is useful for those weird wheels that recumbent people need! Here's the source code.

    C-64 Stuff

I used to program on the C-64, mostly in 6502 and BASIC. We used to stay up late writing games or working on the assembler. Those were the "good old days"! If you feel like reminiscing, check out some emulators for Macs: MacFrodo, C-64 Emulators for Macs. Also see the Commodore Server.
